The Solushin (ARTG #325902) is a patented class 1 medical device for the treatment of medial tibial stress syndrome, commonly referred to as "shin splints". The device is available in left and right legs with various sizes and is not suitable for use on the alternate leg. For example, a Solushin designed for the left leg is not approved for safe use on a right leg. Please refer to the sizing options to ensure you select the right product.

The Solushin has demonstrated, in a clinical setting, an ability to treat medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints). While the placebo group had no measurable effect over the length of the study, those wearing the Solushin noted immediate pain relief with the pain subsiding in its entirety over the course of the study.

Clinical Review:

"I have recently used the Solushin to treat an up and coming rugby player who had been struggling with MTSS (shin splints) for over 7 months. We had tried load management, he was seeing a sports doctor and an EP, and he was beginning to plateau.

"After introducing the Solushin he quickly became pain-free and returned to full activities within 2 weeks. He is now looking forward to competing at his best in the upcoming season and uses the Solushin daily – it is an integral part of his treatment.

"Overall, I found the Solushin helped address the soft tissue challenges that MTSS presents. The service from the Solushin team was prompt and personal which meant my patient received their care in a timely manner. I now use this orthosis routinely on my patients who present with MTSS and would recommend it to any colleagues considering improving the way they manage this common condition."
